Deceased Name: CHARLES S. COHEN

Charles S. Cohen, age 90, of St. Louis Ave., died Thursday, May 2, 2002 in St. Luke's Hospital Hospice.

A lifelong Duluth resident, he was born on March 2O, 1912 to Samuel & Sarah (Slonim) Cohen. He was an Army veteran of WWII; having served in Europe with the 42nd infantry division. He was a lifelong devoted member of Adas Israel Synagogue, a member of the YMCA for 78 years, and it's Heritage Club Endowment Fund for a number of years, the David Wisted American Legion Post 25, and B'Nai Brith. Mr. Cohen also successfully participated in many national handball tournaments.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Louie, Emanuel, and Harry; his sister, Margaret Cohen; his nephew, Edwin Cohen and his wife, Edythe Tusin Cohen on December 26, 1996.

Survivors include his nephews, cousins, sister-in-laws, many friends, and Jerome and Betty Haldorson of Duluth, with whom he had a very important, close, loving and caring relationship.

SERVICES: Graveside servies will be 11:30 AM Sunday at Adas Irael Cemetery on Howard Gnesen Rd. Memorials to the donor's choice would be appreciated. Arrangements by Bell Brother's Funeral Directors, Jarvi-Dowd Chapel, 925 E. 4th St.
